Grief. It’s the club nobody wants to join, but once somebody you care about dies, you’re in the club no matter what.

It’s my mission to help you to discover that grief and love can walk together side by side, that we can talk about death and lean into all its sadness, and create something beautiful at the same time.

Each week, they’ll be a different activity to try. Each activity will be an introduction to how you can explore your grief in a creative way, as well as create a continued bond with your loved one.

A space to grieve... A space to say their name... A space to love... A space to take some time for yourself... A space for community...

Sessions take place in the gorgeous Elephant Rooms in Draycott. We’ll group together at the start and end in a circle in the office, and branch out into the cosy communal space to do each activity.

 FAQs

  • Don’t worry! Each of the activities is planned so that you can be as “creative” or “not-as-creative” as you wish! This is not about what you are creating, but more about giving you something to focus on while you give yourself space to grieve. And because the activity changes each week, you won’t be stuck with one thing for long!

  • Some of us find talking in groups a little intimidating. My aim is to create a friendly, safe, boundaried space where you can share your own unique story. How much you share is totally up to you - I will make sure you get a chance to speak, but only if you wish to do so. The activities will give you something to focus on, and the warm, inviting space will help you feel more at home.

  • I am a qualified counsellor and especially help people navigate loss and bereavement. This is not one-to-one therapy (or Art Therapy), but I am here to hold space, ensure boundaries are respected and also offer any insight from my experience and training where it feels appropriate.

  • The Elephant Rooms offer refreshments which you can enjoy just before and during the sessions - these you can help yourself to for a small donation to Save Elephant Foundation.
